Leadership Philosophy
I believe in the basic premise that a leader is an individual who can help multiple people from different perspectives and ideology to perform at their highest capability to achieve a common goal that ideally for the greater good. My vision of leader is based on two defining skills that are critical for success. The first skill is being able to understand someone after meeting them. The second skill is to find intrinsic motivation that is genuine for someone.
I believe that utilizing empathy is key to being a leader because being able to put yourself in someone else's shoes is key to learning how and why a person lives. It is key to understand that people can have different reasons for their actions because this will allow you to piece together the specific behavior of someone to learn something deeper about them. This leads to the second skill which is being able to analyze what you know about someone to figure out what would intrinsically motivating to them. By understanding someone's talents and inspirations, you can promote situations where individuals can utilize their favorite abilities to drive their passions and goals. A good leader is someone who can make the best out of the situation they are in and I believe that being able to read your surroundings effectively and designing a plan that effectively utilizes and benefits your team are the two most important skills. |
